BACKGROUND: Oryou was a mizuchi - a snake spirit just below true dragons in power - who was sealed to Mt. Takachiho by a cursed spear. She spent centuries building up a grudge and hatred towards the humans who had trapped her. One day, Sakamoto Ryoma - that Sakamoto Ryoma - arrived. While Oryou planned how to trick him into releasing her (after which she would eat him), he pulled the spear out with no prompting, commented "that must have been rough", and climbed back down the mountain.
Oryou, stunned, forgot all about the humans she had built a grudge towards. She realized she had forgotten to eat him, and so she followed him back down.
She accompanied him as he strove to unify the country. He just let her follow him, so she figured he had to be stupid. When people attempted to assassinate Ryoma, she protected him. At some point, history recorded them as husband and wife.
But one day, she was out of the house buying food for a sick Ryoma, and wasn't there to defend him. Ryoma was killed, and Oryou realized that she couldn't bring herself to eat him. Rather than ascend to the heavens and become a proper dragon, Oryou, in her grief, sank to the depths of the ocean.
When Ryoma was summoned as a Servant in the Imperial Holy Grail War, Oryou was summoned as well as his Noble Phantasm (ultimate move). She assisted him and others in taking down Akechi Mitsuhide, who was destabilizing the era, and then joined the group of Servants who were trying to restore the world's proper human history and save humanity.
PERSONALITY: If it wasn't obvious that she's not human from how she never touches the ground, Oryou makes it clear very quickly when you first meet her. She is wary of strangers and humans and will threaten to eat anyone she dislikes (or even allies if they die - no sense wasting food). She can open up to humans over time, however, and becomes more chatty - even letting her most favored humans ride on her back sometimes. Her compliments are rare, but she'll praise her favorite people for hard work.
She doesn't understand humans, especially in how they differ from dragons. She'll offer a reward of frogs to humans who work hard: she likes eating frogs as snacks, so why wouldn't they? She has no innate nudity taboo and had to be told that she should probably wear clothes in human form, and thinks nothing of running through a bathhouse naked to save her husband. Oryou is straightforward, and not prone to silly human things like jealousy because someone else gave her husband chocolate - she's much more concerned that they didn't get any chocolate for her.
She is very prideful of her abilities, boasting of her incredible strength and taunting enemies condescendingly, and will brag about her past accomplishments once she opens up to people. She's also prideful of her ability to run a shop - Ryoma doesn't make much money, so Oryou sells goods so that they can afford the finer things (like frogs). She dreamed of being a beautiful and competent secretary during Ryoma's lifetime, and now dreams of having a beautiful and competent secretary of her own.
Ryoma is the most important person to her bar none. He's the only person she wasn't able to bring herself to eat, even after he died. She blames herself for being unable to protect him from assassination, hates the incident even being brought up, and swears that she will absolutely protect him this time. Because he's the kind of person to casually free a dragon and then let her follow him around, she views him as an idiot who would be nowhere without her. She trusts him completely, so much so that a suggestion that the obviously shady man might be misleading her leads to an exchange of 'hey Ryoma, have you been lying to Oryou all this time?' 'nope' 'okay good'. Followed by sappy couple things.
She's fond of the peace finger sign, and uses it at inappropriate moments (like before she's about to unleash her Noble Phantasm). She also takes selfies very seriously.
POWERS/ABILITIES: -She can fly basically indefinitely, and barely ever touches the ground.
-Her saliva has healing properties.
-Her skin is hard enough to be impenetrable to bullets and blades.
-Resistance to weak spells.
-Enhanced strength.
-Can turn into a bigass dragon.
